Turning Point Community Church’s Potpourri for Women

Pastor John Wagner, the lead pastor at Turning Point Community Church, has more than 25 years of experience as a minister. Since serving as a youth minister at Faith Fellowship Ministries World Outreach Center in 1987, Pastor John Wagner has ministered to dozens of congregations and participated in the annual International Pastors and Ministers Conference

At Turning Point Community Church, Pastor Wagner’s wife, Ilena Wagner, leads a women’s ministry called Potpourri. The group’s name serves as a metaphor for the variety of women with different backgrounds and strengths who blend together to compose the group. The Potpourri ministry provides fellowship, strength, and encouragement to the church’s women as they nurture their faith.

The group’s guiding principle is to nurture each other in the way that Ruth and Naomi loved each other in the Bible, as reflected in this biblical passage: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God my God” (Ruth 1:16). Members participate in a Bible study group called “A Fragrance of Potpourri,” which focuses on strengthening the women’s relationship with God.
